- Task Force on Electric Deregulation, League of MN Cities, Chair. (Studied issues related to deregulation, recommended policy position, and assisted in preparing cities for deregulation.)

- Lawyers Professional Responsibility Board, citizen board and executive committee member. (review complaints against lawyers, establishes standards and rules for ethical behavior by lawyers)
- Judicial Selection Commission: (Interview and recommend to the Governor persons for judicial positions).
- Minnesota Women in City Government, past president. (Through grants, mentoring, assist women in city government, both elected and appointed, to succeed in their roles.
Regional
- South Eastern, South Central Initiative Foundation: past president. (Through grants, and loans, through collaborations, and
convening, and training, encourages individuals, business, and communities to position themselves for success.) Board role is to
approve grants, set policy, and consider the direction and priorities for achieving the mission.
- Hwy 14 Partnership, founder and organizing president. (Developed a coalition of cities, counties, and business in Southern Minnesota
to support the economic needs of Southern Minnesota by advocating for completion of a 4 lane inter-regional corridor.)

Background
Born in Mankato, Minnesota, Kathy Sheran has worked in clinical practice as an RN and in nursing education for 30 years. In addition, since 1995, she has periodically
worked as a special projects manager and troubleshooter in her husband's business (Dean Doyscher) Security Management and Realty, a property development and management
company that manages commercial and multiple family housing projects. In 1983, Kathy was elected as President of the Mankato City Council, she served 4 terms, 16 years, as mayor pro-tem. She served as Mayor in the last year due to the Mayor's resignation.
Currently, she is an Assistant Professor of Nursing in the College of Allied Health and Nursing at MNSU, Mankato.
